After a hectic and freezing cold run-up to Christmas, it's nice to relax!  My friends and I were trading out of the Britten Centre in Lowestoft for several weeks.  Although it's under cover, it's basically outdoors.  So when the temperatures dropped during the cold snap and the snow, we just had to wrap up warm and get on with it.  My coldest day was at the Beccles Farmers' Market when it was -10.

Now that I can relax, a nasty cold has made itself at home so I have a cough and the sniffles and have felt ill all over the holidays!

I'm having a few days off and then will have to get back to work again to restock as I'll be trading at the Farmers' Market on 15th January.

This was my table at the start of the final day at this event.  Sales weren't as good as we'd all hoped (partly due to the dreadful weather we think) but in the end I did make a small profit.

Everyone was freezing cold the whole five days, as the church is very difficult to heat with the doors open.

However, we all managed to keep in fairly good humour and had lots of laughs.

Stallholders were asked to dress up in Christmassy outfits if they could.

The two guys at the next stall were a real laugh - Brian and Andy.  Brian's wife had made them Dalek costumes, but they were the least scary Daleks I've ever seen.

The costumes were great for breaking the ice with customers and starting conversations.  Some people simply asked "Why?" to which the response was "Well, they'd run out of chicken costumes..."

And when challenged about the Christmassyness of the costumes, they replied "Well, it's on TV every Christmas, isn't it?"  You can't argue with that logic!

These had to be the best costumes I saw.  Very eyecatching and well made.  Val (on the right) made them herself I believe.

The Andrex advert appeared on television last night - I was surprised as I hadn't expected it to be aired until January 2011.  So now I can put on my stall: As seen on TV!

The doggy soap dish purchased from me by Andrex in September was used in their new advert, which is now on YouTube.  Unfortunately, you can only see a bit of the dish sticking out from behind the bathroom tap - a bit disappointing, I have to say...

If you want to have a look, go to http://www.youtube.com/andrex.

Maybe another time I'll have better luck...
