My dad and I had a mild version of flu over Christmas, luckily not as bad as some people had it. We're still recovering from that though.
I spent the first two weeks of the new year working hard in the studio, making new stock, some of which can now be seen on the Shop page of my website. Then yesterday I had my first trading event of the year, at Beccles Farmers' Market. It was a bit quiet, but then I had expected that, as many people are still getting over the holidays, and I expect some people have big credit card bills to pay off!
But it was nice to get out there and chat with some folk, instead of working in isolation all day. And the cafe was giving away free breakfasts to everyone - lovely fry-ups of local produce. I believe it was part of National Farmers' Week (or something like that, I apologise if I've got that wrong)! I'd already had toast at home before going out, but succumbed to temptation eventually, due to the lovely aromas wafting my way. I had a couple of sausages and an egg; I didn't go the whole hog and have bacon and mushrooms as well. But it did mean I was able to skip lunch when I got home as I wasn't hungry.
Some of the usual traders were absent, taking time out to make new stock I believe.
My next trading event will be at Beccles again, on 5th February.
